How to Cancel Your Stripe Account

1

Ensure all payouts are complete

Check your Stripe Dashboard for any pending payouts, open disputes, or unsettled transactions. Allow all funds to settle before closing.

2

Cancel active subscriptions or payment links

If you have Stripe Billing subscriptions, payment links, or recurring charges set up, migrate these to your new processor or cancel them in Stripe before closing.

3

Export your data

Download customer data, payment history, and any invoice records from Stripe. Go to Dashboard > Balance > Download CSV.

4

Close your Stripe account

In the Stripe Dashboard, go to Settings > Account > Close Account. You'll need to confirm the closure.

What to Expect During the Transition

Stripe closure requires ensuring no pending funds remain. Because Stripe is often used for online transactions, migration includes updating payment integrations on your website or POS. Liberty Bancard will advise on gateway alternatives for any online processing needs.

Timeline

Day 1–2: Application and Stripe statement review. Day 3: Approval and account setup. Day 4–7: Equipment and integration setup. Day 7–10: Fully live on Liberty Bancard.
